Pyschological Testing

At Central Arkansas Testing & Therapy Center, our LPE-I will complete the testing process in a safe, secure office setting.

What is psychological testing?

Psychological testing can be a very important part of the treatment process. Our licensed psychological examiner will use a variety of testing and assessment measures to help inform diagnosis and guide treatment. Whether you are referred by your current therapist or prescriber, we are here to help!

What can I expect?

Our assessment process consists of three appointments, including an initial intake to determine appropriateness and which tests may be needed, the in-office assessment appointment, and the feedback or review session with the examinee or their family. Our current areas of testing include mood and personality, ADHD, autism, intelligence or cognitive, and career assessment.

What testing do you offer?

ADHD: self-report of symptoms, performance, cognitive, and personality functioning

Autism: includes comprehensive, adaptive, and cognitive testing

Mood and personality: self-report of personality functioning

Intelligence: current intellectual or cognitive functioning (standalone IQ is typically not covered by insurance)

Career: a self-report of traits, interests, and skills through questionnaires or surveys which is ideal for young adults or mid-career professionals interested in learning more about their strengths, areas of interest, and career options (not covered by insurance)

Pre-employment: ideal for first responders to help identify any potential personality issues (not covered by insurance)

Counseling & Therapy

Individual and couples therapy is offered. Therapy can be conducted in our safe and confidential office setting, or online from the comfort of your own home!

Which works for me?

Counseling is short-term treatment focused on one particular issue or problem. Therapy can treat a variety of more complex mental health issues or concerns.

Both methods involve working collaboratively with a licensed clinician to help learn better ways to emotional responses to stressors, and to reduce maladaptive coping patterns.

At CAT&TC, we want to help you reach your full potential by learning healthy communication and problem-solving skills that can lead to more satisfying relationships.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)

With the CBT approach, your therapist will actively work with you to uncover unhealthy thought patterns and help you to identify how these thoughts cause problematic behaviors. You can then change and reframe your maladaptive thinking to lead a healthier and more productive life.

INTERPERSONAL THERAPY (IPT)

IPT can help improve interpersonal skills by focusing on relationships. IPT is used to help improve the quality of social relationships, as well as to manage unresolved grief, cope with difficult life transitions, or manage interpersonal conflict.

SOLUTION-FOCUSED BRIEF THERAPY (SFBT)

SFBT is short-term, goal-focused, and evidence-based treatment approach to help you find solutions, rather than focus on problems. It is a motivating approach focused on achievement and sustaining a desired behavioral change.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (DBT)

Our therapists may use DBT to treat a variety of mental health issues. This approach incorporates concepts including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and developing interpersonal skills.
